Sustainability at the University of Portland

Campus Initiatives

Climate Action: UP aims to be carbon neutral by 2040, through following a climate action plan produced by campus staff and faculty
Responsible Consumption: Through Physical Plant the University has 10 campus facilities enrolled in Energy Trust of Oregon's Strategic Energy Management Program (SEM).
Waste Management: The student-led compost initiative is in dorms and the Bauccio Commons and Pilot House both compost.
